He graduated with distinction from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2003 and after completing his training in the UK and Ireland, was appointed as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in Derry, Northern Ireland in 2014. Over 7 years, Dr Shand established a complex PCI (stenting) programme and led a team delivering a pioneering cross border reperfusion service for patients suffering heart attack. Dr Shand has been actively involved in many multicentre research studies, as well as taking an active role in undergraduate and postgraduate education. He has a particular interest in quality and safety having been clinical governance lead for the cardiac service in Derry during his tenure. In Early 2022, Dr Shand relocated his cardiology clinic to Dublin, bringing his expertise and wealth of experience to St Vincent\u2019s Hospital Group.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c65376b elementor-widget elementor-widget-button\" data-id=\"c65376b\"
